July 16, 2017

If you haven’t found the time to visit a salon before an event or a date with that special someone, don’t fret. There are a lot of facial treatments that you can do from the comfort of your own home. What’s more is that they take less than 30 minutes from start-to-finish.

One of the ways to get an instant glow is to make a DIY face mask. The best part is that it can be made using regular, everyday ingredients from your pantry.

Benefits of Matcha Green Tea Powder Face Masks

Face masks are very easy to apply, extremely fun to use and give instant results. We especially love the way matcha green tea face masks work on the skin. The best part about using matcha green tea powder as a main ingredient is that it’s filled with antioxidants.

Matcha green tea powder not only takes care of acnes, but also protects your face from the harmful UV rays. They also prevent premature aging, wrinkles and sagging. If you use this face mask regularly, you’ll instantly notice the difference.

We realize that everyone’s skin type is not the same. Hence, we have identified a couple of face masks that you can choose from depending on your skin.

DIY Matcha Green Tea Powder Face Mask for All Skin Types

This face mask is ideal for all skin types. So if you’re not really sure of what your skin type is or have combination skin, you can try using this face mask.

You’ll just need two ingredients as follows:

  • Matcha green tea powder – 1 teaspoon
  • Raw honey – ½ a teaspoon

Now simply mix these two ingredients together to make a smooth paste. If you like, you can add a bit more honey depending on the consistency. It shouldn’t be too thick.

Apply the paste generously on your face as well as neck. Wait for 15 minutes. Once it dries, use a small towel or washcloth that’s been soaked in warm water to remove the face mask.

DIY Matcha Green Tea Powder Face Mask for Oily to Normal Skin

If you’re suffering from acne, then this face mask is perfect for you. For this face mask also, you’ll need only two ingredients. They are:

  • Matcha green tea powder – 1 teaspoon
  • Either aloe vera gel or water – a few drops

Take the tea powder in a small bowl. Now very carefully add water or aloe vera gel, only a few drops at a time. Ensure the consistency of this matcha green tea face mask doesn’t become too thin. You don’t want it dripping from your face, do you?

Leave it on for about 15-20 minutes or until it’s completely dry. Wash it off and feel the difference!

DIY Matcha Green Tea Powder Face Mask for Dry Skin

If you’ve extremely dry skin, then this face mask will moisturize your face and eliminate the dry and flaky feeling.

You’ll need the following ingredients:

  • Matcha green tea powder – 2 teaspoons
  • Water
  • Organic coconut oil – ½ a teaspoon

Mix all the three ingredients together in a bowl to make a thick paste. Apply it evenly to your face and neck. Let it sit for about 15-20 minutes before you wash it off.

Tip: Before applying the face mask, ensure your face is clean and free of any makeup for best results.

Many have combination skin, that is, they have an oily T-zone and the rest of the face is either dry or normal. If you have the time, you can make two face masks – one for your oily part and the other for your dry or normal areas of the face.

So which face mask worked for you? We would love to hear your thoughts!
